Sidevine Limited are only responsible for the maintenance of the communal aerial systems. Provision of all Television sets, black boxes and Sky contracts are the responsibility of individual residents.
The communal TV aerial system for each block consists of one (discreetly located!) satellite dish, a digital terrestrial aerial and a distribution box which sends the signal to each apartment. These feed to a wall plate in the living room of each apartment. Some flats have a wall plate with two satellite sockets and the others with one satellite television socket and one Freeview. The difference depends on what the flat owner at the time of installation wanted.
FreeSat and Sky use the satellite dish, FreeView uses the terrestrial aerial.
All changes to the fixed installation up to and including the wall plates, are managed by Sidevine Ltd. This prevents electronic mayhem from breaking out.
N.B. Residents are not allowed to install their own external aerials or satellite dishes.
